Yamas

Yamas is born in Greece during an internship at Parachute TF. Defining a balance between functionality for display purpose, conceptual rigour, skilled lettering approach and a measured idiosyncrasy. Taking influence from sharp knifes and bird beak, first explored by Michael Manoogian in 1983 for Christopher Cross’ album Another Page. Using this reference as a starting point for my design, adding sharpness and volume, it was also a good pretext for playing with stylistic sets and unconventional ligatures. There is plenty if you have the chance to explore the character set.
